    Toilets

In our travels around the world, we have encountered some unusual toilets. We present pictures here for your edification and amusement.

    Best View

Near Ephesos, Turkey is a house where the Virgin Mary may have lived out her last days. It is now a major attraction for pilgrims and tourists. Its rest rooms get our vote for the best view from the men's room. Those are trees through the opening and there is a beautiful valley beyond.

    Corner Office

In Ephesos, Turkey the toilets provide a "hole" new meaning for the corner office.

    New Meaning to "Public Toilets"

In Ephesos, Turkey the public toilets were very public, no stalls, no dividers. Apparently no toilet seats either.

    "Public Toilets"

In Jaipur, India, known as the pink city, the toilets are very public and pink.

    Luxury

We flew into the rain forests of Venezuela. Our pilot had private facilities including standard toilets at each of our camps. They even flushed, using a bucket of water.

    Bright

About two and half hours south of Ulan Baatar, Mongolia, on the road to Kharkhorin we stopped at a gas station and found the brightest, and one of the cleanest out houses (flush toilet) we have ever seen.

    Sizes of toilet paper

    Paper

In Mongolia, the paper is as narrow as we have seen (and it is usually in a US sized holder). We were only in a few bathrooms in China, but the ones we noticed compromised.

      Convenient

In Japan, some of the toilets include a built in faucet to wash your hands after you flush.

    Multifunctional

This is not a male toilet. In Turkey, many of the toilets include more than one function. There is a separate control for the water jet. It is not flush activated like the Japanese toilet above. The water is not heated.

    East or West

In India we found this toilet that can be used eastern style -- note the non-skid platforms at the side -- or western -- note the seat and cover.

    Another East or West

A friend sent a set of pictures that included this one. We looked for it on Google Photos but the only version we found was no longer available. Any one know the source?

    Basic Training

In Japan, some "western" toilets include instructions.

    Two Story Outhouse

We haven't actually seen this one, but it has been floating around on the Internet for some time. Some links to pages that claim real "two story" facilities: 2-Story Outhouses

    Houston Modern

We have been told this is a public toilet in Houston:
Now that you've seen the outside view, take a look at the inside view...
It's made entirely of one-way glass! No one can see you from the outside, but when you are inside it's like sitting in a clear glass box. Now would you...

    Could YOU Use it?????
